6th Grade in a summer!

Working hard on mastering 6th grade topics this summer by completing IXL mathematics and science along with preparing for our upcoming trip by combining reading and history.

I made a timeline with Mom to better understand when world events actually happened. I learned the secular BCE vs CE (or BC vs AD if using the Christian term). It was helpful to see how events in history progressed in order. I enjoyed reading about Alexander the Great most of all. He was even the inspiration for Sultan Mehmed II who conquered Constantinople and sacked the last of Rome. We just finished learning about the Ottoman Empire because we are heading to Istanbul in a few months.

Mathematics. No much fun, but I'm doing the work.

We learned that my mathematics textbook was published in the UK! We caught the unit conversion issues with the UK "long ton" and the US "short ton".
